We hope that by splitting the tour into three we will appeal to a broader spectrum of golfer and allow more flexibility. By dividing the tour we can accommodates those of you who wish to participate on all three modules, covering most of South Africa, or give you a choice of taking a shorter guided tour of say one module and possibly add on a few additional nights either end of your holiday, for a more relaxed programme. Tuesday 26th JanuaryDepart early evening from London Heathrow on South African Airways direct flight to Johannesburg. Wednesday 27th JanuaryArrive Johannesburg and take a connecting flight to Durban. On arrival in Durban, you will be met and transferred to Ballito. Spend 6 nights at Zimbali Lodge, newly managed by the reputable Fairmount group. Zimbali is a breathtaking 700-hectare Coastal Resort situated on a pristine stretch of KwaZulu-Natal’s Dolphin Coast. It is a place of expansive beauty, endowed with lush vegetation and an abundance of indigenous wildlife. 6 nights at the Zimbali Lodge & Spa including breakfast. Thursday 28th JanuaryGolf at Zimbali; offering irresistible ocean and forest views, exceptional water and wetland features and an inspiring natural setting, Zimbali Country Club has developed the reputation of a memorable course with charisma and challenge. Friday 29th JanuaryGolf at Prince’s Grant; a Peter Matkovich designed golf course that is constantly been ranked as one of KwaZulu Natal's finest. The course is a links/parkland layout with magnificent sea views, natural bush and Zululand tropical interior. Saturday 30th JanuaryToday we take a drive into Durban for a tour of the city. The drive will take you through the sports corridor with its impressive sporting facilities to the Blue Lagoon on the Umgeni River - enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Durban bay. We then head for the golden mile with its spectacular beaches, see the colourful rickshaws, en route to the impressive developments at the new Point Waterfront area. We drive past the busiest harbour in Africa and various historical monuments, through the city centre where the second railway station, the City Hall and the Post Office buildings each have a story to tell. We stop at the Indian Market for a glimpse into the Indian culture, try bargaining for souvenirs and perhaps bring back some exotic spices. We visit the Botanical Gardens with its extensive collection of trees and plants from all over the world, as well as a famous cycad collection and orchid garden. Return to Zimbali mid afternoon, time to relax and enjoy one of the super pools or take a walk along the beach. Sunday 31st JanuaryGolf at Mount Edgecombe; boasting two unique championship golf courses, designed around the natural lie and habitat of the land, Mount Edgecombe Country Club Estates has been acclaimed for many years as one of the premier golfing Estates in Southern Africa. Monday 1st FebruaryOptional golf or a day spent relaxing and taking advantage of the resort facilities. Tuesday 2nd FebruaryAfter breakfast, you will be transferred from Zimbali to Durban Airport for the flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival, transfer to Amakhala Game Reserve for a 3 nights stay at Reed Valley Bush Lodge. Amakhala is only 75km from Port Elizabeth, spectacularly set against a cliff above the Bushman’s River valley. It offers an intimate and tranquil experience of the Eastern Cape bushveld at its best. The lodge staff are particularly friendly, nothing is too much trouble and you are bound to have a wonderful stay, taking only the very best of memories with you. 3 nights at Amakhala’s Reed Valley Bush Lodge on a full board basis. Wednesday 3rd FebruaryOn safari at Amakhala. Morning and evening game drives by experienced rangers through Amakhala Game Reserve will leave you in awe of the diverse vegetation and spectacular scenery which abounds here. For a change of pace, enjoy bird watching and game spotting walks along the lazy Bushman’s River, a cheese and wine boat cruise or a sundowners canoe safari. All guided game drives are arranged to suit your personal needs. In the evening, the fireside beckons you to share tales of your day’s adventure and to enjoy award winning South African wines and local cuisine under a magnificent canopy of stars. Thursday 4th FebruaryOn safari at Amakhala. Friday 5th FebruaryAfter the morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred to Port Elizabeth Airport where you have the option to continue with this tour as per Module 2 OR fly back to Johannesburg and onto London Heathrow.
