ITINERARY
DAY 1: MELBOURNE You will be met on arrival in
Melbourne and transferred directly to the hotel. The capital of Victoria
is situated at the top of Port Phillip Bay and centred on the north
bank of the Yarra River. Its character and charm are reflected by
the wide sweeping boulevards, lined by magnificent English trees,
the greens and colours of its parks and gardens, the great range of
restaurants and cafes and its elegant shops. Spend 5 nights in your
choice of accommodation (Accommodation: 3* Travelodge Southbank
Standard Room, 4* Vibe Savoy Plaza (Std), 5* Langham Hotel Classic
Room).
Day 2: At leisure
Day 3: Meet
your golf representative who will transfer you to Commonwealth Golf
Course; This course is indeed a demanding test of the golfers skill,
with the big deep bunkers and slick putting greens that Melbourne's
Sandbelt is famous for. The course is feared for its treacherous sloping
greens. In common with nearby Royal Melbourne and Huntingdale, the par
3's are to be approached with extreme caution.
Day
4: Today will be at leisure.
Day 5: This morning, meet your golf representative,
transfer to Yarra Yarra Golf Course; One of Melbourne's prestigious sand
belt courses dates back from the early 1890's. The fairways are carved
through avenues of firs and gum trees and the large rolling greens in
tournament play are as smooth as glass. The bunkering at Yarra is particularly
impressive, the fairways are generous on many holes, but the greens can
be lightning fast.
Day 6: CAIRNS Meet your private car and driver, you
will be transferred to Melbourne Airport. Fly Melbourne to Cairns. On
arrival, collect your rental car (Budget Rental car Compact Sedan – CCAR
for 6 days hire, based on 24 hour period). Make your way to Palm Cove.
Spend 5 nights in your chosen accommodation. With its palm-fringed white
beach and calm blue water, Palm Cove looks like everyone's idea of a
tropical getaway. It has luxury international hotels but it has not lost
the charm of an oldfashioned seaside holiday town. Ideally located between
Cairns and Port Douglas (Accommodation: 3* Novotel Palm Cove Resort
Room, 4* Manta Amphora 1 bedroom apt, 5* Angsana
Resort 1b/r pool view suite).
Day
7: Make your way to Paradise Palms Golf Course. Designed by Australian
Champion Graham Marsh, this resort style golf course is always challenging.
Featuring six lakes and ninety four bunkers, it is one of the best maintained
courses in Australia.
Day 8: Today will be at leisure.
Day
9: Make your way to Mirage Golf Course. Situated in Port Douglas and
rated as one of the world's best resort courses. The 18 hole international
standard championship course contains the unusual combination of 6 par
3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5 holes. The course borders the Coral Sea and
has a panoramic mountain backdrop.
Day 10: Today will be at leisure.
Day 11: GOLD COAST Drop off your hire car at Cairns Airport and take
a connect flight to the Gold Coast. On arrival collect your rental car
(Budget Rental Car Compact Sedan – CCAR for 6 days hire, based
on 24 hour period). Make your way to your chosen accommodation on the
Gold Coast. The Gold Coast is a 35 kilometre stretch of beaches starting
from the Queensland border. Stretching from the twin towns of Tweed Heads
and Coolangatta through Burleigh Heads, Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise
to Brisbane. The region is virtually one continuous development of high
rise hotels. The backdrop to the Gold Coast's coastline is the Hinterland
area with rainforests and bushlands. The Gold Coast is a superb combination
of spectacular beaches, national parks, wilderness, extensive waterways,
valleys and wide open spaces (Accommodation: 3* Breakfree Beachcomber
- 1 bedroom apt - weekly Servicing (including full breakfast in
room rate), 4* Australis Sovereign - 1 bedroom apt - weekly servicing,
5* Sanctuary Cove - 1 bedroom suite)
Day 12: Make your way to Lakelands Golf Course. It took 25 years for
Jack Nicklaus to find the perfect location for his first signature golf
course in Australia and his vision is now a reality. Voted the top Public
Access course in Queensland 2002. The Golden Bear's influence includes
his trademark bunkers and water features.
Day 13: Today is at leisure.
Day 14: This morning you will be making your way to Palm Meadows Golf
Course; Renowned as the venue for one of Australia's richest golf tournaments
- the Palm Meadows Cup. The course has attracted the world's top players
but was designed in such a way that any standard of player can try the
shots that the legends have played.
Day 15: Today is at leisure.
Day 16: SYDNEY Drop off your hire car at Gold Coast Airport in time
to check in for your flight to Sydney. You will be met on arrival and
transferred to your chosen accommodation. The first settlement of Australia,
positioned on one of the most beautiful harbours in the world, Sydney
is the capital of New South Wales. As Australia’s largest city
it boasts an incredible mixed culture which only adds to its charm. In
addition to the harbour, Sydney is bordered by spectacular beaches to
the east and the Blue Mountains to the west and boasts the architectural
wonder of the Sydney Opera House (Accommodation: 3* Travelodge
Wynyard Standard room, 4* Grace Hotel
Superior (Std), 5* Observatory Hotel Deluxe Room).
Day
17: Today is at leisure
Day 18: This morning, meet your golf representative,
transfer to St Michael’s Golf Course. The St Michaels layout is
a very challenging seaside links style course especially in windy conditions.
The course is well groomed and is always in tip top condition. The Kikuyu
fairways are forgiving but the rough will cause you trouble. Located
south of Sydney next to NSW Golf Club and the Pacific Ocean this course
provides spectacular views of the sea and surrounding coastline.
Day
19: Today is at leisure.
Day
20: This morning, meet your golf representative, transfer to Terrey Hills
Golf Course. For as long as most of us can remember, the name Terrey
Hills has conjured up visions of the awesome beauty of Ku-ring-gai Chase
National Park. Today bush blends with landscaped gardens in a sought-after
semi-rural village, home to a golf course recognised as one of the leading
championship courses in Australia. Why not end your special holiday with
a meal at Sydney’s Summit Restaurant, the only thing to rival the
view is the outstanding cuisine. The Summit on the 47th level of Australia
Square is situated one hundred and sixty five meters above Sydney Harbour.
The World’s largest revolving restaurant, it takes in the 360 degrees
of the spectacular Sydney skyline in one and three quarter hours.
