A golfers delight. The Garden Route is fast becoming the golfing Mecca of South Africa, boasting some of the most spectacular golf courses nestled amongst superb scenery, golden beaches, indigenous forests, lakes, lagoons, and meandering rivers.

Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Depart early evening from London Heathrow on South African Airways direct flight to Cape Town.

Day 2: Arrive Cape Town where you will be met and transferred to Four Rosmead for a four nights stay on a bed and breakfast basis. Four Rosmead is an exclusive guesthouse situated on the slopes of Table Mountain in the select residential suburb of Oranjezicht. The guesthouse enjoys 360º views of the mountain, Lions Head, Signal Hill, Table Bay and the city. It is within walking distance of the city as well as vibrant Kloof Street, which is well known for its restaurant and café culture. Your hire car will be delivered to you at the guest house at 1400. 4 nights at Four Rosmead including breakfast.

Day 3: Golf at Rondebosch Golf Club - Rondebosch is a parkland 18- hole course and is rated as a ‘must-play’ amongst golfers. Ten minutes from the city centre, and situated with magnificent views of Devil’s Peak and Table Mountain from most holes, the course is a popular choice for local and foreign visitors.

Day 4: Full day guided tour of the Cape Peninsular and Table Mountain- One of the most scenic routes in South Africa, the tour includes, a trip by cable car to the top of Table Mountain, a visit to Boulders Beach to see the penguins, then Cape Point via the villages of Simonstown to Hout Bay, Camps Bay and the stunning Chapman’s peak drive. Returning in the late afternoon.

milnerton golf clubDay 5: Golf at Milnerton Golf Club - a regular host to PGA events including the South African Open, the course boasts picture postcard views of Table Mountain across the bay from almost every hole. A seaside course surrounded by natural beauty and is a challenge to even the most experienced golfer - especially when the prevailing South Easter, affectionately known as the "Cape Doctor" - makes her house calls in the summer months!

Day 6: This morning you will drive along to the coastal town of Hermanus, a charming fishing village, famous for the Southern Right whales that come right into the bay during the winter months. You will be spending two nights at Harbour House on a bed and breakfast basis. This traditionally decorated Historical Monument is situated in the heart of the Old Harbour in Hermanus. Positioned only a few metres from the water’s edge, the Harbour House makes for an ideal spot for keen whale watchers and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. 2 nights Harbour House including breakfast.

Day 7: Golf at Hermanus Golf Club - this course offers the keen golfer 18 incredible holes of golf. Over the years the Hermanus course has become one of the most popular courses to play in the area and a definite "must play" course.

Day 8: After breakfast, make your way further along the Garden Route via the coastal towns of Mossel Bay, George and Wilderness to Knysna. There will be several scenic view points on route. Check into St James of Knysna for a four nights stay on a bed and breakfast basis. St James is an exclusive, owner run, five star Country House Hotel uniquely situated directly on the shores of the famous Knysna Lagoon. The luxuriously appointed suites offer spectacular views across this peaceful lagoon to the dramatic Knysna Heads or over the magnificent 3 acre gardens. 4 nights St James including breakfast.

Day 9: Golf at Pezula. The Pezula Championship Golf Course is perched above the Indian Ocean and the Knysna lagoon. Flanked by indigenous forest, flora and unforgettable vistas, the course offers players both a challenging and rewarding golf experience.

fancourtDay 10: Free day to relax or explore the quant little town of Knysna and the waterfront.

Day 11: Golf at Plettenberg Bay Country Club. The main attraction to this course being the challenging layout built to USGA specifications and rated 32 in South Africa. Set in a nature reserve, the indigenous flora attracts a large variety of bird life and small animals like antelope and bush pig, etc. The site has also become popular with the local bird-watching club and is home to a large colourful bird known as the Knysna Loerie. After golf you may wish to take drive through Plettenberg Bay and Natures Valley before heading back to Knysna.

Day 12: Most of the day is free to relax, late afternoon drive to George Airport to drop off your hire car and connect with your flight to Johannesburg and the onward flight to London Heathrow.

Day 13: Arrive London.
