ITINERARY
Day 1: Depart early evening from London Heathrow, Terminal 1, on South
African Airways direct flight to Cape Town.
Day 2: On arrival in Cape Town, you will be transferred to Glen Avon,
situated in the heart of the picturesque Constantia winelands. Owned
and run by the Stringer family you will sample true Capetonian hospitality.
Glen Avon is set amidst a charming garden with heated pool and is situated
with in easy reach of several golf courses. Your group B hire car will
be delivered to the lodge at 14h00.

- Golf at Westlake and Milnerton.
Suggested tour for the afternoon;
explore the Cape Peninsular, take the scenic drive through to Cape Point
via Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and Simons Town, visit Boulders Beach to see
the penguins. Returning via the Chapman’s Peak Drive, to Hout Bay
and Camps Bay. Do leave an evening free to explore the Waterfront area.
Day
5: This morning you will be making your way to Wellington, where you
will be spending three nights at Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse. This charming
small hotel is just over an hours drive from Cape Town and is on a working
wheat and sheep farm with 4000 hectare of fynbos nature reserve which
can be explored on game drives or by mountain bike. Enjoy spectacular
backdrop of mountains, the wonderful gardens and unique swimming pool.
3 nights at Bartholomeus Klip on a full board
basis which includes all dinners and game drives – Golf at Boschenmeer and Pearl Valley.
After your rounds of golf do spend some time in Stellenbosch, a university
town with wonderful Cape Dutch architecture and Franschhoek a much smaller
village with wonderful restaurants and interesting shops. Or if you are
into your wines, how about some wine tasting, there are numerous vineyards
in the region.
Day 8: After an early breakfast your will be making your way along the
garden route to Plettenberg Bay – a scenic five hour drive to Lairds
Country Estate. This gracious Cape Dutch homestead offers mountain views,
wide open spaces, secluded pool and elegant accommodation. Perfectly
positioned to explore the Garden Route, from the Wilderness to the Tsitsikamma
forests.

Set in the hear
of the Garden Route you will have the opportunity to visit Plettenberg
Bay, Knysna, George and Wilderness, all are well worth visiting. The
beaches are uncrowded and spectacular and the area is often likened to
the Lake District.
Day 11: Today you will be heading to Port Elizabeth to La Provence,
enjoy the relaxed tranquillity of this beautiful country estate unique
to Port Elizabeth and set within a nature conservancy. Park like gardens,
panoramic views, glimpses of the Indian Ocean, large secluded pool, abundant
birdlife and clear starlit skies enhance the serenity of this Mediterranean
styled home.
3 nights at La Provence Country House including one chef’s
secret dinner experience including food & wine pairing – Golf
at Humewood and Port Elizabeth Golf Club.
Day 14: Drop your hire car off at Port Elizabeth Airport and connect
with your flight to Durban. On arrival pick up a hire car and make your
way to Cleopatra Mountain Farm House. Tucked deep in the Drakensberg
Mountains near Giants Castle is a place of legendary culinary delight.
With a passion for cooking, Richard Poynton has created a rare experience
in his idyllic farm style mountain retreat. South African wines from
the underground cellar add to the evening experience. Mountain pursuits
such as hiking, swimming, bird watching, fishing, horse riding and visiting

Day 17: After breakfast spend the morning at leisure. Then travel back
down to Durban, drop off your hire car at Durban Airport and connect
with the flight to Johannesburg and then on to London. The icing on the
cake for this holiday would be a 3 night safari.
